Polyxeni (Xenia) Charalampidou is Post-doctoral Researcher/Assistant Professor at the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw. She has also co-operated with the British School at Athens, the Swiss School of Archaeology in Greece and the VU University Amsterdam. Her current research focuses on élite culture in the ancient Greek world within the project Greek aristocratic culture (8th-5th centuries B.C.): the life-styles and the systems of values, directed by Dr Habil. Marek Węcowski. Her work also concerns Early Iron Age and Archaic pottery (macroscopic analysis and petrography), technology and economy including her participation as one of the main researchers in interdisciplinary projects such as The Ceramic Industry of Eretria. She has carried out research and fieldwork in the Aegean with emphasis on Euboea, the Euboean Gulf region and Naxos in the Cyclades.
